How does inöuqa work?2024-05-06T11:37:35+02:00

Inöuqa is a giant construction game, composed of geometric units that connect to each other infinitely. No direction to respect, you will see, it is very intuitive, almost magical. You will find colored plugs on each unit, your visual reference points in a way, to build your constructions.

Up to now, we have done all the work… then, we hand over to you, it’s your turn: imagine, build, play!

From what age can my child play with it?2024-05-06T11:27:12+02:00

Inöuqa is a toy for children from 3 years old. We have seen it many times, from the moment the child is mobile, he will quickly understand the functioning of the units and will be able to play with them.

Fully compliant with CE and NF – EN 71 (children’s toys) standards, inöuqa is classified for children over 3 years of age, but has no contraindications for children under 3.

As for the age limit, is there one for giant toys ? Obviously, we think not! But since the units have a predefined size, we think that children will play enthusiastically until 9-10 years old. Then, they will use it to create structures for their figurines or as shelves to store their manga’s… Yes, believe us, it’s true ;) And the more units there are, the bigger the constructions will be, so everything is possible…

How do I choose the right set for me?2024-05-06T11:39:51+02:00

It’s quite simple, we offer 2 sets of different sizes: “excursion” or “adventure“.

So, depending on your (and your children’s) building ambitions, you will need more or less units to build the structures of your dreams. Don’t worry though, nothing is definitive, you can always buy one of our units ExtraSet.

It’s up to you then to make huge inventions!

What kind of constructions can I make?2024-01-24T17:40:03+01:00

Since the beginning, our wish is to free the imagination and the creativity of the children. That’s why you won’t find any instructions on how to use our toy, or even an exhaustive number of constructions to build according to the set of your choice. It is voluntary and assumed! Martin’s rocket will not look like Ines’. And Sacha’s castle will probably be very different from Maya’s. And that’s a good thing, right? To sum up, you can build whatever you (or your child) can think of, there is no limit.

Where to find inspiration?2024-01-24T17:40:03+01:00

As we know that the unknown can be frightening, we wanted to help you a little bit… That’s why you will find an “inspiration” section on our website , intended to suggest you some basic ideas to launch you in the inöuqa adventure. A submarine, a tunnel, a toy box, a lighthouse… Pick the inspiration, then let your child build, imagine his stories, and become his characters. For each inspiration, you will also have the number of modules needed to build it. Not the order of assembly, just the number. That’s not bad at all, is it?

What size and weight for each unit?2024-05-06T11:41:47+02:00

This is a good question. We already told you about our “giant building set”… So “giant” is precisely because children from 18 months old will be able to build structures to their size and get into them. And they can do it themselves because carrying and moving the units is a real child’s play: it’s light and adapted to their size. The units weigh between 160 and 340 grams and measure up to 34×76 cm for the largest piece, the trapezoid.

The description of the units is detailed on the presentation of each kit in the store.

Is it safe for my child?2024-01-24T17:40:02+01:00

Throughout the design process, child safety was a priority. From materials to design, our choices have been guided by this ambition. The materials are classified as “non-hazardous”, “non-chemical” and “non-toxic”, so there are no consequences if your child puts it in the mouth for example. No danger to the skin or eyes either. No worries either about the alteration of the units: they resist water, extreme temperature conditions and are robust and resilient enough to preserve their original shape and functionality for a long time. Given their lightness and their rounded shapes, there is no risk of injuries for the little ones, of damage to your floors or of exhausting your eardrums. You’ll see, it’s even very funny to make your playhouse collapse in all serenity. On the other hand, we can’t control voluntary acts of deterioration. An adult or teenager who wants to remove (and probably break) a plug or break a unit to prove that it is not as durable as advertised will undoubtedly succeed. But then we’re out of the recommended use and it’s one less unit to travel with… The only thing to watch out for if this happens is that the magnets are small, shiny pieces and a child could be tempted to ingest them. So be careful, but before that happens, it will be necessary to go through inappropriate and inadvisable behaviors.

Can my child walk on it?2024-01-24T17:40:01+01:00

Walk on his playhouse? What a funny idea… And yet so much fun! We are not fooled, and we have been children too. Building is fun, but deconstructing is hilarious. So, in the heat of the action and according to some crazy ideas, the units could be (a little) mistreated. That’s why we chose these materials and why we did a lot of resistance tests. The answer is yes, your units can be savagely trampled. Be careful though, it is not excluded that, positioned in a certain way, in random balance, the units can slightly bend or even break, on a corner for example. The brutality of our toddlers is sometimes impressive, let’s be clear. So, walking on flat units, yes, on an unstable pile of overlapping units, preferably to be avoided.

Where is inöuqa made?2024-01-24T17:40:00+01:00

In France my captain! Near Grenoble to be precise. In a factory in Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs to be exact. It was a will and at the same time a challenge. So, we are proud to have succeeded and to offer a toy “Made in France”.

What materials are used?2024-01-24T17:39:59+01:00

This is a question that deserves several answers:

  • The units are made of 100% recyclable EPP (expanded polypropylene) foam. High quality, light and durable, the EPP absorbs shocks, resists stains, is soft to the touch and free of harmful products. Used for many years in many industries (automotive, construction, food, leisure …), we make it out of its box to offer a solution for play never seen. A respectful choice for our children and our environment.
  • The caps are made of regenerated PP (polypropylene). This means it’s a sustainable plastic material that’s also 100% recyclable. While there is regenerated PP, made from crushed, washed and extruded materials that can be reused, we have chosen virgin PP, essentially to fully control its traceability and ensure zero risk for children.

In all cases, we feel that these choices are a step in the right direction to limit our impact on our planet, and that they are in line with our values.
